Did You Know? - You can access Online resources such as Microsoft Teams and Satchel One on an Xbox or PlayStation. This is done using the web browser on the device. On an Xbox the browser is an app called 'Edge' and on a PlayStation, the app has a WWW symbol as the icon. Please take into account that websites may take a little longer to load on these devices. Further information accessing Office 365/Satchel One via these devices can be found here.

Following the latest government announcement that students are remote learning at home for the start of term, here is information explaining where to find your work:

Year 11: We aim to teach most Year 11 lessons on Microsoft Teams.

Year 10: We aim to teach most Year 10 lessons on Microsoft Teams.

Additional revision resources can be accessed via the ‘Revision and Study Skills’ link at the bottom of this page.

Year 9:  Starting on the week beginning 11/1/20, we are phasing in teaching year 9 via live lessons on Microsoft Teams.

Lesson Times:

Session A: 9:00

Session B: 11:00

Session C: 13:00.

To join live lessons, students will need to click on the ‘join Teams meeting’ link sent to their Satchel-One account (and also to their student email address) at the correct time. Teachers may not be able to let them in if they are late.  If students are struggling to get into the lesson they should email ictsupport@beaumontleys.leicester.sch.uk.  Registers will be taken.  Lessons will last 90 minutes but teachers will not teach that whole time to allow time for students to complete their work and to email teachers with questions and for help before the end of the lesson.  Worksheets and tasks for students to complete that accompany the live lessons will continue to be set on Satchel-One.

Years 7-8:

Class teachers will set work on Satchel One.  This will consist of a pre-recorded narrated PowerPoint and any accompanying worksheets.

Submitting completed work

Students should submit their completed work to their teacher on Satchel, or follow the instructions from their class teacher if different.  Satchel allows students to submit work through uploading a file as an attachment.  Alternatively, Satchel has a feature allowing students to upload a photo of handwritten work.

We know that a small number of students in Years 7-8 do not have a suitable device in order to access Satchel One from home and so we have given out work packs for those Y7-8 students who had requested one. We will be preparing their next work pack ready for them to collect on Monday 18th January, outside main reception between 11:00 and 12:00.
